CTD casts in this dataset have been collected by three groups:
- Department of Marine Science, University of Otago as part of their annual field school (2015 – 2025)
- The research programme “Natural carbon sequestration in our southern fjords – a pathway towards carbon neutrality”, funded by a Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment Endeavour Grant (Contract UOOX2101) (2021 – 2025)
- Regular cruises undertaken by the Department of Conservation (2023 – 2025)
A 1-D hindcasting model written in Fortran with python bindings has been included, along with necessary data to run the model at two locations in Patea / Doubtful Sound, using boundary conditions from the BluelinkReANalysis product 2023 and the resulting output files.
