Description
This dataset provides a small and reproducible test case for the Anvi’o metagenomics platform.
It was generated by simulating shotgun metagenomic data from three bacterial reference genomes.
The dataset includes the following key files:
- `
CONTIGS.db`: An Anvi’o contigs database, which stores information about the assembled contigs, including their sequences, GC
content, and gene calls. - `
PROFILE.db`: An Anvi’o profile database, which contains the coverage and detection statistics for each contig across the samples. - `
*.bam`: BAM files containing the read alignments for each of the three simulated samples against the assembled contigs.
Data Generation
The dataset was created using a subset of three bacterial genomes:
- Bacillus subtilis (NC_000964.3)
- Listeria monocytogenes (NC_003210.1)
- Staphylococcus aureus (NC_007795.1)
For each genome, a 100Kbp region was selected. These were then used to simulate three metagenomic samples, each containing 100,000 reads, with varying coverage of the source genomes.
The simulation was performed using the simulate-mg-samples.py script included in the accompanying repository.
