This archive contains files and bathymetry data from Rapa Nui (Easter Island, Chile), originating from echosounder data gathered in November 2022 and 2025. Depth was measured using a Biosonics MX echosounder [1], and surveys mostly focused on shallow depths (above 30m depth).

This archive also contains extracts from GEBCO [2], Copernicus COP 30 [3], and nautical maps from SHOA [4], which are used to krige an interpolated bathymetry map at 30×30 m resolution. R code is provided to replicate the interpolation.

• ALL_DEPTHS.rds and ALL_DEPTHS.tsv Echosounder data as an R data file containing a data frame, or as tab-delimited text data, with columns: data_file the original data file; local_time the local time of the record; utcsec the number of seconds since UNIX Epoch of the record (in UTC time); gps_quality The quality of the gps record (lower is better); lat, lon, UTM_X, UTM_Y coordinates of the record in WGS84 lon/lat (EPSG 4326) or UTM12S (EPSG 32712), respectively; bottom_depth The recorded depth, in meters

• rapa_polygon.sqlite an sqlite database containing polygon data for Rapa Nui mainland and islets

• output/input_dataset.gpkg A geopackage data file containing all data points used for depth kriging

• output/rapa_coastal_bathymetry_rast.tiff A single band geoTIFF containing interpolated depth data at a 30x30m resolution (UTM12S; EPSG 32712)

• kriging_bathymetry.R, swissknife.R two R script files containing the code used to interpolate the bathymetry data

• pretty_export/export.png A rendering of the depth data

• export_version.txt The export version number
