##### Description/ Abstract:
This dataset contains all results of Deliverable 3.3 from the EU Horizon Europe Project MARine COastal BiOdiversity Long-term Observations – MARCO-BOLO (https://marcobolo-project.eu/). This study collected environmental and biodiversity monitoring data from governmental agencies and scientific institutions in different European countries, which had previously been used to assess the status of water bodies according to the Water Framework Directive (WFD) and the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD). The analysis focused on biodiversity and environmental data from four river-to-sea systems: Elbe – North Sea continuum, Po – Adriatic Sea continuum, Danube – Black Sea continuum and Guadalquivir – Atlantic Ocean continuum. The taxonomic groups, that were analysed, were: fish, macrozoobenthos and phytoplankton.
Source data was collected from governmental and scientific institutions and should be requested directly from the data providers. The data providers are listed in the results files. All code to derive the results can be found under https://codebase.helmholtz.cloud/marco-bolo-task-3.3/deliverable-3.3.
