This dataset contains the hydrogen and oxygen isotope compositions of stalagmite fluid inclusion water from Feilong Cave, southwest China. The data are associated with the manuscript “Stalagmite fluid inclusions reveal Holocene evaporative water balance and preindustrial human disturbance in southwest China”.

The dataset includes fluid inclusion water δ18O and δ2H measurements, corresponding sample depths and ages, and related information used to evaluate Holocene evaporative water-balance changes in the soil–epikarst–cave system. These data support the interpretation that stalagmite fluid inclusion water isotopes can record local evaporative modification and hydrological responses to monsoon variability and preindustrial land-use disturbance in monsoon karst environments.

Supplementary Tables S1 and S2 contain the new hydrogen and oxygen isotope data of stalagmite fluid inclusion water used in this study.
