Chemical process control
📄 Abstract
In this chapter we shall study the optimization problems arising in industrial processes which are in a fairly rapid state of change. Typically we shall be referring to processes in the chemical and petroleum industries, although the same character of optimization treatment may be applied to other dynamic problems such as those occurring in urban traffic control. The basic aim of Cato/yst )//7pt/ts —; T the processes in the chemical industry is to convert a raw material into a more valuable product by a chemical reaction or refining procedure such as the conversion of crude oil into petroleum.
